Posture information stays on your device
EspaldUp uses motion information from compatible AirPods to estimate head position relative to a neutral posture you calibrate. Motion, calibration, alignment, posture detection, and session summaries are processed on your iPhone. EspaldUp does not intentionally send this information, your session duration, adjustment count, or session identifier to Google advertising services.
Your neutral calibration profile and app preferences are stored locally so you can return without routinely recalibrating. Session summaries are temporary; EspaldUp does not maintain a persistent posture-session history. There is no EspaldUp account, server, or app-managed cloud synchronization. Device backups and restores controlled by you and the operating system may include local app data.
Advertising and privacy services
A small optional Google AdMob banner may appear on a completed-session summary, including a session you end early. Advertising does not use your posture measurements for targeting. The summary remains usable when an ad is unavailable.
Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform use network connections. Depending on the service and applicable privacy configuration, Google may process IP addresses and approximate location, device or app identifiers, advertising interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. These are separate from EspaldUp's on-device posture processing. EspaldUp does not add a separate analytics service or its own advertising user profile. This does not mean Google's SDK performs no advertising measurement.
If you allow App Tracking Transparency, Google may use your device's advertising identifier for advertising measurement and related advertising purposes. If you decline or the system does not provide the identifier, EspaldUp remains usable and may still request ads without IDFA. Apple's permission does not replace Google's regional privacy choices: UMP may ask you to make additional choices where required. EspaldUp does not add keywords, posture measurements, session identifiers, or other posture information to ad requests or use posture information to target ads. Google's processing, retention, international transfers, and available controls are described in Google's Privacy Policy and Google's mobile ads data disclosures.
Permissions and choices
Motion access enables posture monitoring. Notifications provide local correction and recovery feedback. You can change permissions in iOS Settings and feedback preferences inside EspaldUp. Notification sounds and delivery depend on the system and connected devices.
EspaldUp asks for Apple's tracking permission only after advertising consent information has been updated and any required Google privacy form has been presented from a stable screen at launch. The request may appear during onboarding, before you connect AirPods or calibrate your posture. You can choose either option; withholding ATT permission does not block posture functionality. Google presents regulatory privacy choices when required by the configured service and region. When available, open Settings → Advertising Privacy to review Google's official privacy options. Advertising and privacy services may need connectivity even though posture processing does not.
Retention, removal, and requests
The calibration profile and preferences remain in local app storage until replaced or removed. Deleting the app removes its local app container; offloading is not the same as deleting. Backup copies are subject to your device/backup settings. EspaldUp cannot delete provider-held information merely by deleting local data. Use Google's controls or contact us for help with applicable privacy requests, including access, correction, or deletion rights where provided by law.
EspaldUp is a posture-guidance tool, not a medical diagnosis or treatment. If this policy changes, an updated version will be published with its effective date. For questions, use the privacy contact above.
